Day 172
I’m currently at the Kessler Theater for the ZZ Ward concert. Going to concerts nowadays is a bit of a contradiction for me. To wit:
- I do not like being in a small space in the middle of a crowd.
- I usually end up going to concerts alone, which means I’m usually feeling super awkward.
- I prefer to experience the concert through my own five senses, as opposed to those who would rather watch the whole thing through their camera/phone. Don’t get me wrong, I take a few pictures too but being on your phone for most of a concert seems like a waste of money.
Despite my hesitations, especially about the crowds, there are a handful of artists I would absolutely never want to miss and ZZ Ward is one of them. This also means that I’ve only been to a handful of concerts: Phantom Planet, Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, Rilo Kiley, Jenny Lewis, and Marina and the Diamonds (I’ve seen her three times.)
I’m really excited for tonight.
