Hanukkah Holidays

On the eighth night of Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve…

As long as the candle is still burning, it is still possible to accomplish and to mend.

Rabbi Yisrael Salanter

Idealistic optimism seems to be this year’s theme for me. Everywhere I’ve been this year, I have noticed that even in the midst of uncertainty and/or fear, it is important to also recognize the good. Being able to travel with JDC Entwine and ADL this year has shown me the extraordinary work they do on behalf of those who are not able to help themselves and it has inspired me to continue to be more active. I am fully aware of how lucky I have been to be able to travel so often and how many amazing opportunities I have had. I am also very lucky to have my mom and Temple Emanu-El family. So, despite the low points, 2016 has been pretty awesome and I’m fully committed to making 2017 even better.

Here’s to another year filled with love, learning, peace, joy, and all the things that we hold dear. Happy New Year!
