Something I’ve been thinking a lot about is that I’m going to be raising a multiracial child. I know my mom intentionally made sure that she exposed me to different cultures and experiences, as well as taught me to be proud of my ethnic heritage. It’s something that I want to do for this baby girl as well. I know her experience as a Jew of Color will be vastly different from mine and I’m grateful for that. I want her to have a strong Jewish identity and honor her ethnic background and know that they don’t contradict each other and actually intertwine in beautiful ways.
