Day 70

Today would have been Mom’s 76th birthday. To no one’s surprise, it does feel weird. But then, I also was on Capitol Hill for several hours and spoke with the staff at Senator Cornyn and Representative Allred’s offices, so it’s been an unusual day anyway.

One of the RAC staff sat next to me for the bus ride from the hotel to Capitol Hill. We started talking and somehow the conversation turned to my mom and she asked me to describe her. It was really soothing and comforting to talk about my mom. I’m finding that I want to tell everyone about her. She would have hated me saying so, but she really was an extraordinary woman. I really miss her.
