I’ve battled depression since I was ten. There’s been so many ups and downs, but my mom really was the one who made sure I got the treatment I needed. Sometimes I would joke that I was going to quit going to my therapist and psychiatrist and she would flip out. I wouldn’t have made it this far without her help and support. As Rabbi Kim noted in her eulogy, Mom fought for me to survive and thrive. I hope that I’m doing that in a way that would make Mom proud.
