Day 301
Today I went to the rehearsal for the Oral Fixation show next week. It was a little surreal. People have been coming up to me all week at Temple, asking about the show and what my story was about, which has been a little weird for me.
I won’t lie, I wasn’t looking forward to the actor exercises. Stuff like that brings me back to my high school theatre class and, believe me, those memories need to stay away. But I got through it and listened to the other women’s stories, told my story, and felt better. One of the other storytellers is a 14 year old girl, which I find inspiring. I think of my awkward, 14 year old self and know that I would never have done something like this back then, so she is incredibly courageous. I can’t wait for next Friday.
Quick plug: Tickets can be bought here. With every ticket, you’ll also receive a copy of Gretchen Carlson’s book, Be Fierce. She’ll also be telling her story, which I’m sure will be amazing.
