Rosh Hashanah is fast approaching. I love watching the hustle and bustle in the synagogue in the weeks leading up to it. Rosh Hashanah also marks the beginning of a full holiday season: Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas.

The holidays are always an interesting mix of emotions for me. It’s a joyful time, filled with community, but it’s also hard to get through the days for me. I don’t really want to get into the reasons (of which there are many), but I am looking forward to a new Jewish year.
