Day 161

Posted in one of the Facebook groups I follow:

“What activities did you engage in growing up that you didn’t know was actually helping you cope, or process, with difficult experiences until later in life? And do you still engage in those activities?”

My answer:

Reading for sure. I’m an only child who also happens to be introverted so reading helps me escape when things feel like they’re getting to be too much.

Writing about the really tough times, like being hospitalized multiple times in high school, has also helped.

Daydreaming is also important, so much so that I tend not to talk about it too much for fear people would think I was crazy.
