…onto the third night…
I found Temple by accident. I searched for Dallas synagogues on Google and Temple was the first result. After going to the website, I emailed a staff member inquiring about conversion and received a reply pretty quickly telling me that classes were actually about to begin and they’d love to have me there. The rest, as they say, is history.
Temple has been an important anchor during these weird and scary times. I am continually reminded that I’m not alone and that I have a community to lean on, even if our relationship is complicated. I came to Temple at a really low point in my life. I had just moved back after finishing grad school and I was struggling to find my footing in the world. At one point I began having suicidal thoughts because I didn’t think the world had space for me. But finding Temple gave me purpose and meaning. My world has grown bigger and brighter and more noisy and joyful.
This is all to say that I am incredibly grateful to have this chosen family.
