Day 298
It’s that time of year when everyone is beginning to decorate for the holidays and excitedly go over their plans for the season. And me? It’s probably best summed up by a recent conversation between my mom and me.
Mom: So, what are we doing for Thanksgiving?
Me: Pretending it’s not Thanksgiving.
This time of year is so family-oriented and it still reminds me of the permanent rift that separates my mom and me from the rest of the family.
Still, I do love watching little kids during this time and remembering things I used to do for the holidays when I was their age. Maybe when I have my own family I’ll enjoy this time of year again.
