Introvert, Extrovert

Light, Dark

Up, Down

Left, Right

Raised Christian, Now Jewish

But there’s a missing half of my tree

My dark skin and coloring from Mexico

With faint traces of Filipino ancestry

I look like my mother

I have no idea what I get from my father

I wonder if that’s why I’ve always felt slightly out of place

Why I always feel like I’m searching for something just out of reach

I’m missing half of my history

Even if I have no interest in forging a paternal relationship

I still want to know who I am
