Night 4

I leave for Israel tomorrow and have a lot of mixed feelings. I’m excited to visit again and to spend time with other Jewish educators (this is for my masters in Jewish education), but I’ll be away for ten days and I already miss my sweet girl so much. As other people keep reminding me, I am doing this to better myself and, ultimately, Eliza and my family.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we started lighting Hanukkah candles early so I could be here for the full eight nights. I held Eliza extra tight tonight and sang to her. I’m also recording some of the songs I sing to her so Stephen can play them for her. My clinical faculty mentor suggested taking one of her toys with me, so I’m taking the doggy she loves and will be taking pictures during the trip.

It’s so hard leaving her, but she’ll be surrounded by people who love her and I’m excited to bring back goodies for her and the family.
