As I approach my 30th birthday, I find myself thinking about what legacy I want to leave in this world. If anything, Jews are a people of thoughtful action. Pirke Avot teaches that while we are not expected to solve the world’s problems, but neither are we allowed to ignore them. I’m slowly coming to discover what that means for me, as a Jew, as a woman, as someone with a Hispanic and Filipino background.
