But first, a word about the Robert E. Lee statue removal here in Dallas. Confederate memorials were put up to intimidate recently freed slaves and I have no patience for those who claim we’re erasing history by taking these statues off public/government-owned lands. How about the history about minority communities that is nonexistent in textbooks? How about the lack of memorials and tributes to minority heroes? Those are true erasures of history.
