Ten Months
Dear Eliza,
You are ten months old today! During this past month, you took your first few steps completely unassisted and had a sleepover with your aunties while Mama and Papa celebrated their first wedding anniversary. You love your teachers at preschool and playing with your friends. It’s such a joy watching you grow by leaps and bounds.
This past month also marked your grandma’s second yahrzeit. I took you to the memorial room to see her plaque and it was bittersweet. I miss Grandma so much, but you have been such a ray of sunshine in my life and I know she would have loved you so much. Your tenacious personality echoes hers, which is fitting since you are named for her.
During a recent Shabbat service, you and your sister played with a group of girls. I started crying because you both seemed so at ease and happy. You are part of a beautiful community that will always be here for you and surrounded by a family, both related by blood and by choice, who loves you so much. I think Grandma would be proud of how Papa and I are raising you and your siblings.
You will be one in a couple of months and I can’t believe that time has flown by. I can’t wait to see how you continue to blossom.
Love,
Mama
