Seven Months
Dear Eliza,
You are seven months old! You are pulling yourself up to stand, crawling, and moving all the time. We’re pretty certain some teeth are coming in and you’ve been bravely trying out new foods. I love watching you discover the world around you and I take pride in the fact that Papa and I are raising you in a beautiful community who love you so much.
I cried a few weeks ago when I was going through some of Grandma’s things. I miss her so much and I wish that she were here, not only so she could meet you, but so that she could help guide me through this new phase of my life. Your papa hugged me as I cried and I was reminded of how much life has changed in such a short amount of time. I hope Grandma would be proud of me and the life I’m leading now.
We went on our first family trip for Thanksgiving to Galveston and it was so much fun. I love watching you with your siblings and I’m so happy that you have them. It was a fun time and one that I hope we make a tradition in the years to come.
You also met one of Grandma’s sisters, your great-aunt, last week. She has dementia now, but I wanted you to meet her since she was close with your Grandma and me at one time. It was nice to visit with her, even if she didn’t know who I was.
You continue to amaze me every day. Some days are tougher than others (teething has been particularly rough), but I’m learning how to manage everything with Papa’s help and support from our friends and family. We all love you so much.
Love,
Mama
