Day 238

It’s been a long week and I am really exhausted (shocker, I know.) We met with a ketubah artist today, one that I’ve been following for a long time on Instagram. I am so excited to see her design and am really pleased with how planning is coming along.

We only have a few months until the big day, which is actually only a few days before her first yahrzeit. I had some reservations about that, but when Rabbi Kim mentioned how Judaism holds both the joy and the brokenness, it made me feel better. I had my ten year conversion anniversary celebration a few days before the end of shloshim and was able to honor Mom in a way that was meaningful. I am more than sure that I will be able to do the same in this case.
