Civic Responsibility

Today was a whirlwind. I went down to Austin with a couple of friends to attend the ADL’s lobby day and met with staff from my state senator’s office. It was a great reminder of how important it is to be active in politics, whether it be by running for office, advocating at the capital, or simply voting. It was also pretty awesome to hear from political insiders that Texas may be slowly inching towards becoming, at the very least, a purple state.

Also, did anyone know that Texas had its first female governor in 1925? I definitely didn’t and that fact needs to be publicized more.
